Why is Eating Proteins Good for Your Health?

There are three important food building blocks including fat, carbohydrate and protein. It is important that you nourish your body with each of these to remain healthy and continue growing. Protein is important, particularly to start your day with. Protein is a terrific source of fuel for the body. Protein is a primary source of energy, and considered one of the building blocks of cells, which create muscle and bone in the body.

If you eat enough lean protein, your body is capable of building healthy muscle, skin, nails, cartilage and blood. Protein is also essential for repairing injured body parts, including tissues. Why else is it important to eat plenty of protein?

Protein is used by the body to produce hormones and enzymes. Protein, when eaten first thing in the morning, prepares the body to feel energized and ready to take on the day’s activities. If you eat protein first thing in the morning, you are less likely to feel hungry for the rest of the day. Starting off the day with protein may help you to feel fuller for longer. This can contribute to healthier eating throughout the day, and may contribute to weight loss.

There are many ways to incorporate protein into your diet. Some people prefer to eat eggs as a traditional source of protein, particularly early in the morning. However there are many enticing recipes that include protein shakes as a way to incorporate protein in the morning but also as a supplement during the day.

You can make a protein shake or smoothie by blending not just a small amount of protein, but also healthy fruit including blueberries, strawberries or blackberries which contain many antioxidants, and some yogurt which contains healthy bacteria to line your gut with immune stimulating properties. Remember to try to incorporate healthy protein into your diet to remain at peak performance throughout the day.
